KEEP ICE LONGER: MAXIMIZING ICE RETENTION WITH SOYEAH COOLERS

SoYeah High-Performance Coolers are designed to retain ice for up to 10 days, thanks to their rotomolded construction, thick insulation, and premium silicone gaskets that create a nearly airtight seal. Our adjustable compression latches ensure a tight lock and come in either durable rubber or stainless steel, unlike many competitors who use lower-cost materials.

Follow these expert tips to get the most out of your SoYeah Cooler and extend your ice retention!

PREPARATION & PACKING TIPS

1. PRE-CHILL YOUR COOLER

A warm cooler will waste ice trying to cool itself down. Pre-chill your cooler with a bag of ice a few hours before use to maximize efficiency.

2. OPTIMAL ICE-TO-CONTENTS RATIO

For best results, use twice as much ice as contents:
✔ 66% ice
✔ 33% food & drinks

Always fill the cooler completely with ice to enhance performance.

3. CHOOSE THE RIGHT ICE

  • Colder-than-freezing ice lasts longer than ice at 32°F (0°C).
  • Block ice melts slower, while cubed ice cools faster. Using a combination of both is ideal!

4. MINIMIZE AIR SPACE

Air inside the cooler accelerates melting. Pack your cooler as full as possible and fill empty spaces with crumpled newspaper to reduce air pockets.

Note: Do not overfill to the point of forcing the lid closed, as this can break the seal and reduce insulation efficiency.

USAGE TIPS FOR MAXIMUM ICE RETENTION

5. DON’T DRAIN MELTED ICE WATER TOO SOON

The cold water surrounding the remaining ice helps insulate and slow down melting. Drain water only when necessary, especially if food is exposed.

6. KEEP YOUR COOLER SHADED

Direct sunlight speeds up ice melt. Store your cooler in the shade or cover it with a towel or tarp if shade isn’t available.

7. KEEP THE LID CLOSED

Every time you open your cooler, warm air enters and ice melts faster. Limit how often you open it to preserve ice longer.

USING DRY ICE FOR EXTREME COOLING

SoYeah Coolers are dry ice compatible, allowing contents to stay cold or even frozen for an extended period.

8. WHAT IS DRY ICE?

Dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide (-109°F / -78°C), providing twice the cooling power of regular ice while being lighter in weight.

9. HANDLING DRY ICE SAFELY

✔ Wear gloves or use a towel to prevent freezer burns.
✔ Store in a ventilated area to avoid CO₂ buildup.
✔ Keep away from children for safety.

10. HOW TO PACK DRY ICE IN YOUR COOLER

  • Use one 10-inch / 10 lb block per 15 inches of cooler length.
  • Wrap dry ice in newspaper before packing.
  • Place dry ice on top of contents for longer-lasting effects.
  • Minimize air pockets using regular ice or crumpled newspaper.
